Works to reduce harm and create long term solutions to prostitution. PAAFE offers Prostitution Offender Program (John School); grants; public awareness and education; community initiatives; C.O.A.R.S.E Diversion Project and Mentorship Program; and Breaking Down Barriers Research Action Project.

Our mission is to have individuals who have experienced the mental health system support fellow psychiatric survivors. The staff and volunteers offer individual and group peer support and inform and educate the community about the needs of consumer/survivors.

Provides short-term shelter for six to eight weeks or a maximum of three months; 24-hour phone line; individual counselling; counselling for non-residents and day clients; visits by Indian Elders and church clergy; counselling for survivors of abuse; transportation to school and appointments; advocacy; and public education.

A community organization which serves as a resource for persons who are mentally handicapped to support community living. We offer individualized planning supports, planned and emergency respite, development and supply of individualized living arrangements within the community, operation of group homes, and planning and implementation of meaningful opportunities for individuals during the day.

Provides hot sit-down meals in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, distributes food to over 70 social service agencies, and offers emergency food hampers to individuals referred by social service agencies.

Supplies shelter and support to victims of domestic violence throughout the Baffin region.

Offers second stage housing to women and children surviving domestic violence. We offer supportive, comfortable housing in a cooperative living environment for 9-12 months term of residency (rent geared to income). Other services offered include: crisis support, legal information, consulting, and life skills. Referrals to social agencies and support groups are available.

Ensure that all people have a home and the opportunity to participate in their communities as a means to overcoming poverty. As a national organization working in partnership with grassroots agencies, Raising the Roof raises funds for community-based organizations who are implementing long-term solutions to homelessness; educates Canadians about ways to reduce and prevent homelessness; and facilitates joint efforts among front-line agencies working on homelessness issues.

To defend the rights of homeless persons in Montreal. Activities include raising awareness of homelessness and related issues, information sharing, training, neighbourhood and issue-based actions, lobbying and research.
